Bored in MABS 60

What is MABS 60? It's the introduction to Computer Applications for Business- boring. Microsoft excel, word, access... a decade too late to teach me anything new. The version they have is 2007. I know it is too much to ask since the version isn't out, but getting MS Office 2010 would pique my interest in this class. I end up using excel for my personal accounting, and surfing through the internet in class. As you can see, I am blogging. This is in no form multitasking, because my focused energy doesn't allow me to do such a thing. Right now, professor Uchida is lecturing about excel. I'm an accountant, and this material shouldn't be anything new- and it is. If it wasn't for the exercises, I would of not went to class. I guess a free A is in the midst.

I have a Newegg.com preferred account, which makes it very tempting to buy something from that site. I have a $4000 credit line, so I have to struggle to keep my impulses at a dead pulse in order to keep my financial status stable. For the longest time, I've wanted a new portable computer. Here are the variables that keep me from getting one. Windows 7 is almost out, so I am inclined to wait until I can buy a laptop and the software at the same time. The second variable is my indecision between a netbook and a laptop. A netbook is for a student, because it is usually smaller and its cheaper. There is a downfall though; it is not powerful enough for my enthusiast needs. Therefor, I need something like a laptop. The only problem is the price. It's 3x more on average. This means I have to work 3 weeks just to obtain it. I can dream, though.

  1. Which one's better to carry: a notebook or a laptop? I have a crappy laptop and I'm thinking about getting a notebook or a better laptop. Any recomendations on a notebook that would be best for a college student. Thanks!

  2. a notebook is a subcategory of laptops. i actually recommend net books for students. they are cheap, very light, and have substantial battery life.
